New South Wales South Coast map
Indigenous people identify in many ways according to where they are from and who they are related to.
On the NSW South Coast Aboriginal people generally refer to themselves as Aboriginal or Koori. Others prefer to include their clan name (eg. Brinja-Yuin) or language group (eg. Dhurga). Some prefer to emphasise the place they are from, such as, "Where's your mob from? I'm from Bega".
